Standing at 16.3 Hands, Sirius Slew - who has made his stud debut at Kedarona Stud, has made an immediate impression after he was unfortunately not raced due to injury.

Sirius Slew is one of only two sons of the legendary Triple Crown Winning Seattle Slew at stud in Victoria and only a handful Australian wide.

An all time great, Seattle Slew is part of an elite group of stallions to have sired over one hundred stakes winners.

Serveral Champions including A.P Indy (currently leading sire in the states), Swale, Slew O’Gold, Surfside, Landaluce and Digression have been sired by Seattle Slew and last year he added the outstanding two year old Vindication to his impressive list. Not to forget Air de France sire of the all mighty Bomber Bill.Sirius Slew is the third foal of the winning Forty Niner mare Bandore who is the producer of the recent stakes winning filly in the US “Dance to my Tune”.

One of Mr Prospector’s finest sons, Forty Niner was American Champion 2YO and he won 11 races including the Champagne Stakes, Futurity Stakes, the Travers Stakes and the Haskell Invitational Handicap - all at Grade One Level.

As a brood mare sire Forty Niner has further excelled, his daughters already producing 23 Stakes Winners including the triple grade one winner High Yield.

Bandore is a daughter of the talented Nijinsky 11 mare Ballare, winner of 4 races including the grade 3 Senorita Stakes at Hollywood Park.

At Stud Ballare produced six winners including the group three winners Gold Seam and Balladry and one of her daughters is the dam of the listed winner Afternoon Affair.

Ballare was one of three winners from three to race produced by her dam, the top class round table mare Morgaise. The winner of ten races inc. the Lassie Stakes, the Nursery Stakes and the Railbird Stakes. Morgaise placed on a further 10 occasions from 30 starts.

Morgaise is a grand daughter of another highclass mare in Careless Nora, winner of seven of her 12 starts and considered Englands best sprinter of her time. She was described by author Richard Ulbrich as ‘Explosively Fast’.

Ancestress of this prolific family is Traverse whose other descendants include the local group one winning siblings Assertive Lass and Assertive Lad.

Bred on the highly successful Seattle Slew / Mr Prospector cross, Sirius Slew has a speed orientated pedigree that suggests he will prove an excellent match for a wide range of mares.
